Everything in a $3.95 RoofTap report
Order-grade roof measurements, plus the property, owner, storm and solar data around them, in one call. Every number comes with a confidence level, and you're never billed for a low-confidence read.
What comes back on every Full record
The free Lite tier returns roof area, predominant pitch and squares. Full returns all of the following. Measurements cover the main structure; we flag detached buildings when we see them.
Roof measurements
Satellite + USGS LiDAR
- Total roof area and squares
- Waste table (area and squares at each waste %) + recommended waste
- Pitch per facet and predominant pitch
- Facet count and complexity score
- Ridges, hips, valleys, eaves, rakes (linear ft) · measured from LiDAR where coverage allows
- Headwall and sidewall flashing, pitch transitions · marked as estimates for now
- Drip edge / perimeter
- Stories and roof height (average, lowest, highest)
- Structure type

How close the numbers are
Median difference from the reference, on properties where we had one. Measurements are compared with professional reports from HOVER, EagleView and Roofr. Penetrations and condition are compared with hand labels of the same aerial image. We re-run these benchmarks as the models improve and audit live reports every week.

- Edge confidence depends on the LiDAR. Where the USGS survey is recent and dense, edges are marked high confidence (9 of 40 roofs in our benchmark). Where it's sparse or old, we lower the confidence, and with no usable LiDAR the edges fall back to satellite estimates with a note on the report.
- Rakes are the hardest edge. They read about 18% off even on high-confidence roofs, so we never mark them above medium.
- Two professional reports on the same house usually disagree by a few percent on area and by more on individual edges. Single-digit error is close to the limit of what the reference can show.
